in other words

In other wor(l)ds is a body of sculptural works that explores the relationship between language, psychological states, and space. The series is based on the idea that conversations, words, and emotions do not disappear after they are spoken but remain present in space and memory. These invisible presences — unfinished sentences, repeated words, misunderstandings, last words, and moments of indecision — form the conceptual foundation of the work.

Each sculpture in the series begins with a linguistic or psychological condition which is then translated into a physical action. A stretched sound becomes a dragged form, repetition becomes repeated structure, indecision becomes directional form, rejection becomes weight, and being left in the middle becomes suspension. Many of the forms are derived from Urdu letters, which are transformed from readable text into structural elements.

The sculptures are constructed using wood, metal, string, and acrylic elements, and exist at a human scale, allowing them to function as presences rather than objects. When installed together, the works form a spatial environment that can be understood as a psychological landscape — a space occupied by thoughts, conversations, and emotional conditions that have taken physical form.

The title In other wor(l)ds refers to the idea that there are multiple layers of reality operating simultaneously: the physical world we see, and the invisible world made of language, memory, and internal dialogue. This body of work attempts to make that invisible world temporarily visible by giving it structure, balance, weight, and position in space.
